Texas Longhorns Favored vs. Michigan, Oklahoma; Early Betting Odds Revealed
AUSTIN -- The Texas Longhorns have tons of story lines littered across their 2024 footballs schedule as they prepare for their first season in the SEC. Rivalries are being renewed and new ones are forging.
But the attention for Texas centers around its big-boy matchups with Georgia, Michigan and Oklahoma, undoubtedly the three-toughest games the Longhorns have on next season's schedule.
Due to the hype surrounding these matchups, betting odds for the games are already being released by FanDuel six months ahead of the season and the Longhorns are being given an early edge.
Texas is being listed as a 2.5-point favorites against Michigan for the Sept. 7 meeting in Ann Arbor. The defending national champions have lost head coach Jim Harbaugh and starting quarterback J.J. McCarthy to the NFL this offseason which, on paper, gives the Longhorns an advantage as of now.
The Longhorns are also expected to handle business in the first-ever SEC edition of the Red River Rivalry on Oct. 12, as Texas is a surprising 10.5-point favorite over Oklahoma despite losing the rivalry game this past season.
However, not all of the early odds favor the Longhorns. Texas is a slight 1.5-point home underdog to Georgia for when the two teams meet in Austin on Saturday, Oct. 19.
