Texas Longhorns Decorated in Big 12 Season Honors, Four Players Win Awards
AUSTIN, Texas -- The Texas Longhorns are headed to the Big 12 Championship in Arlington on Saturday against the Oklahoma State Cowboys. But before they go, they've got tons of hardware to claim.
The Big 12 Conference revealed its All-Conference award winners and teams Wednesday, as the Longhorns had 26 total players receive postseason honors.
Texas had four award winners, highlight by T'Vondre Sweat winning the Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year. He becomes the sixth Longhorn to do so and the first at Texas since Malik Jefferson in 2017.

Regular season stats: 40 total tackles, two sacks, five passes defended
Big 12 Newcomer of the Year - WR Adonai Mitchell
Regular season stats: 45 catches, 704 yards, nine touchdowns
Big 12 Freshman of the Year - LB Anthony Hill
Regular season stats: 57 total tackles, four sacks, two passes defended
Big 12 Defensive Lineman of the Year - DT Byron Murphy
Regular season stats: 24 total tackles, five sacks, one receiving touchdown
The Longhorns also had multiple other players receive honorable mention honors for other individual awards despite coming up just short of winning:
