Ex-NFL Star Dez Bryant Raves About Texas' Ryan Watts vs. Alabama

The former star receiver is quite fond of what he sees from Texas defensive back Ryan Watts against Alabama

The Texas Longhorns are currently in the midst of a heavyweight bout against No. 3 Alabama and are more than holding their own as they led 13-6 going into the half.

One of the main reasons that this is the case is the performance that they are getting from the defense. The Longhorns held Alabama to just six first-half points, forcing quarterback Jalen Milroe to be a true passer which is something he has struggled with. Milroe has struggled to push the ball downfield with his arm and is often resorting to running before the pressure is even getting to him which indicates he is skittish.

It also makes a ton of sense that he has been tentative to throw when you look at the plays that the Texas secondary is making. Jahdae Barron picked off Milroe early in the game, and Ryan Watts has been a nuisance all game to Milroe.

So much so that former Dallas Cowboys receiver Deb Bryant took to social to praise how talented Watts is, declaring that he is a first-round talent.

Through the first half, Watts had recorded four total tackles, one tackle for a loss, and a touchdown-saving pass breakup.

The 6-foot-3 defensive back transferred in prior to last season from Ohio State and has been a staple of the Texas defense. Being that the Longhorns are leading, and Alabama will be pushing to make something else happen, look for Watts to have a couple more chances to make some game-changing plays for the Longhorns.
