Texas Longhorns vs. Kansas Jayhawks: How to Watch, Betting Odds
The No. 24 Kansas Jayhawks roll into Austin, Texas, looking to do what they did in 2021: beat the Longhorns.
This time is different for the No. 3 Texas (4-0, 1-0 Big 12). The Longhorns are on a mission to round out their tenure in the Big 12 with a conference championship and are not worrying about what happened two years ago getting in the way of that.
"In a weird way, I'm kind of glad [the upset] happened because it exposed some warts in our program that needed to get removed," head coach Steve Sarkisian said. "If we hadn't removed those warts, we might not be where we are today in our program."
The Jayhawks (4-0, 1-0 Big 12) have one of the best quarterback-running back duos in the conference in signal-caller Jalon Daniels and ball-carrier Devin Neal — both returning starters from last year's Liberty Bowl team.
Daniels missed the season-opener against Missouri State but has completed 74.7 percent of his 75 pass attempts for 705 yards and five touchdowns.
Kansas has overhauled its abysmal defense, allowing 22.8 points and 296.8 yards per game after having a bottom-10 defense a year ago.
Jayhawks' Cobee Bryant is one of the best man-coverage cornerbacks in the Big 12, making for a fun one-on-one matchup between he and Texas wide receiver Xavier Worthy coming Saturday.
