Longhorns 2024 WR Target Micah Hudson Won't Make Official Visit to Austin
AUSTIN, Texas -- The Texas Longhorns have been dealt an unexpected blow in the recruiting game ahead of an important weekend in Austin.
Per reports from Inside Texas, 2024 Lake Belton (Temple, TX) receiver Micah Hudson won't be making his official visit to the Forty Acres this weekend as originally planned. The Longhorns may now have just seen themselves fall out of favor with one of the top receivers in the state, who could end up choosing a Lone Star rival instead.
Hudson, a five-star talent per 247Sports' player rankings, is still set to make a trip to College Station to visit the Texas A&M Aggies. He also just wrapped up an official visit to Lubbock with the Texas Tech Red Raiders this past weekend.
Things seemed to be trending in Texas' favor after the program hosted Hudson for an unofficial visit on Thursday. He spoke highly of the Longhorns and the coaching staff.
"I would give today's unofficial visit an 8 out of 10," Hudson told 247. "I was able to see some things I wasn't able to see before and I had a really good time even though the visit was short. ... I was able to pick up a good vibe with Coach Jackson and think that we have a good relationship being built up," he said. "He's always real with me and he was just explaining how it would be if I went to Texas."
The Longhorns might now have to focus their attention elsewhere, as it seems like Hudson has interest in other programs.
Last season with Lake Belton, Hudson had 65 catches for 1,198 yards and 14 touchdowns. He also rushed for 243 yards on 32 carries.
