Texas Longhorns One Of 'Only Three Teams' That Can Beat Georgia Bulldogs

The race for the College Football Playoff is ramping up for the Texas Longhorns.

With the regular season nearly at its end, the message to the top-eight teams in college football is simple.

Win and you are in, but lose and your chances of making the College Football Playoff are slim to none. One of the teams that finds themselves in that discussion is the No. 7 Texas Longhorns. While it hasn't been pretty as of late, Texas has been able to survive and advance and is still viewed as being one of the best teams.

So much so that Fox Sports analyst Joel Klatt recently revealed that he thinks there are three teams that can take down Georgia, and Texas is one of those teams.

"There's only three teams that you could say, 'OK, this would give their coaching staff some pause. These are matchups that would give them some trouble.' I think that’s Ohio State, I think that’s Texas, and I think that’s Oregon,” said Klatt. “Those are the teams that are best built to match up with Georgia. Not beat, but match up with.”

The Longhorns haven't looked nearly as good as they did earlier in the season thanks to second-half collapses that have seen them squander 20-point leads, but they do have a signature win over Alabama which looks like they are one of the best teams in the country again.

For the Longhorns to beat Georgia, they would need a complete showing from both the offense and defense that would last the entire game and not just one half of it. However, while fans may already be looking ahead to the playoff, Texas has two more games they need to win before that even matters, starting with Texas Tech on Friday.
