Takeaways
One of the most notable performances was that of Billingsley, who had a rocky past season with Texas in what was his only year with the team. He impressed in front of scouts with some bouncy athleticism and underrated speed, while also showing his pass-catching ability with former Longhorns quarterback David Ash tossing the rock.
It was seen as a huge leap of faith when Billingsley declared for the draft. But even though he still could go undrafted, Billingsley might've earned himself a training day contract after showing off his potential in front of scouts from all 32 teams.
Overshown has already been in discussions with NFL teams after this combine, but made sure to boost his stock a bit at Pro Day. He displayed his own impressive athleticism, leading the pack in both jumping categories.
Milton, like Billingsley, had an odd season during his only year at Texas, but he looked to use his opportunity at Pro Day to the fullest. Showing off his quickness in the major speed categories and in passing drills as well, Milton has the potential to ink a training camp contract, though he may have needed to do more this past season to increase this chances.
Best quotes
- Roschon Johnson on if there's a more versatile running back than him in this draft:
“I honestly don't think so," Johnson said. "I mean, I can't speak for everybody. I know there's some great backs in this class. As far as my story, my versatility from a quarterback’s perspective and also playing special teams and also not being a starter … I don't know if there's another back like that.”
- DeMarvion Overshown on his new baby boy:
"Little man gonna be six months next week," Overshown said. "He's big, he grown, hopefully he get that D-I offer from Texas here soon and you'll have another Overshown to interview here in a couple of years."
- D'Shawn Jamison on not being invited to the combine:
"I was kinda messed up about it at first, but you know there's always other opportunities for you to show the world what you can do."
