After defeating Nick Saban in front of 105,000-plus Alabama fans, the Horns returned to Austin and entered a dogfight with Wyoming until the start of the fourth quarter.

Houston nearly completed the comeback after Quinn Ewers left with a shoulder injury in the fourth quarter. Kansas State forced last week's game into overtime despite Texas holding a 20-point lead with a minute remaining in the third.

Yes, Saturday is a trap game. Even in victories, the Longhorns have struggled to pull away late. And with Ewers returning, perhaps Texas finds more consistency on offense.

Then again, one lousy throw could toss away any chance of making the College Football Playoff in 2023.
