WATCH: Texas TE Ja'Tavion Sanders Makes One-Handed Grab vs. Baylor
WACO, Texas -- Texas Longhorns tight end Ja'Tavion Sanders had his coming-out party in the team's early-season win over Alabama.
And after going catchless in last week's 31-10 win over the Wyoming Cowboys, he's up to his old tricks again in Saturday's Big 12 opener against the Baylor Bears at McLane Stadium.
With the Longhorns already holding a big second-half lead coming out of the locker room, Sanders added quick insult to injury with a smooth-looking one-handed grab on the second play of the third quarter that resulted in a 49-yard catch-and-run.
The Longhorns ended up settling for a field goal, but the play was one to remember. Take a look:
Sanders has had growing confidence since last season's matchup with Alabama.
"It was definitely a confidence builder," Sanders said. "Alabama is known as that school. They just go out there and dominate everybody. But first as a team, to play how we did it, even though we came up short ... it was definitely a confidence booster and we're definitely going to use that confidence that we gained and use it this week."
Sanders even predicted that he might make a big play in this year's win over the Crimson Tide.
"This will be made for the big time guy. You know, they say big time players make big time ... I don't even have to finish that," Sanders said with a smile.
He's certainly lived up to that saying against Baylor on Saturday. As of 2:11 left in the third quarter, Sanders has five catches for 110 yards.
