Texas Longhorns running back Jonathon Brooks is continuing his impressive season in the early going of Saturday's meeting with the TCU Horned Frogs in Fort Worth.

After punting on their first drive and turning it over on downs on their second, the No. 7 Longhorns got their first big gain of the night on the first play of the third drive thanks to a huge 73-yard catch-and-run from Brooks. He made it all the way to the TCU two-yard line before walking in for a two-yard touchdown on the next play.

The score gave Texas a 7-3 lead.

Take a look at the catch:

Brooks' season has been even more impressive considering that he didn't make his first-career start until the third game of this season against Wyoming. True freshman CJ Baxter started the first two games of the year but has battled injury this season. Yet, it's Brooks who is having a season worthy of potential back-to-back Doak Walker Awards trophies coming to Austin.

He said that it feels good when he and Baxter can complement each other in the running game.

"Feels good that we can kind of feed off each other and I feel like whether you put any back back there that we have," Brooks said. "We're gonna get the job done. We're gonna go out there and we have a lot of confidence in myself. We practice hard. We do drills hard. And yeah, I just feel like we just we practice hard so it kind of comes not natural, but it's not surprising."
