'We'll See Them Again': Xavier Worthy Confident Texas Longhorns Will Face Oklahoma Sooners For Big 12 Title

Xavier Worthy is confident that the Texas Longhorns will face the Oklahoma Sooners once again

AUSTIN - The Texas Longhorns are coming off of a critical bye week, in which they were able to regroup and get healthy after a devasting loss to the Oklahoma Sooners

And while the team has undoubtedly shifted their focus to their upcoming trip to face the Houston Cougars this coming Saturday, star wideout Xavier Worthy had a little bit more to say about the subject.

During the team's media availability on Monday, Worthy admitted that Texas has pushed that disappointment to the side, but was also confident that the Longhorns would see their arch-rivals again in Arlington for the Big 12 Championship Game.

“We put that loss in the back of our heads," Worthy said. "We'll take things week by week, and we’ll see them again.”

The Longhorns got some major help in that department during their off week from none other than their upcoming opponent as well, with Houston taking down the West Virginia Mountaineers on a miracle hail mary attempt as time expired.

Heading into that game, the Mountaineers undefeated in conference, and were ahead of the Longhorns in the Big 12 race.

Now, they sit on even ground, with West Virginia still having a matchup against the Oklahoma Sooners remaining on the schedule.

Meanwhile, Texas should be favored in their remaining six games, which feature all unranked opponents.

In other words, as long as they take care of business, they will get their shot at redemption vs. the Sooners in Arlington, just as Worthy stated.

And if they can take down Oklahoma at AT&T Stadium, their College Football Playoff hopes will still be very much alive.
