Longhorns Coach Rodney Terry 'An Inspiration' to Steve Sarkisian

As the Longhorns go through spring practice, Steve Sarkisian gave his stamp of approval to Rodney Terry.
In this story:

Springtime in Texas means warm weather, plenty of pollen in the air and the start of spring football practices. For the Texas Longhorns, they are approaching this offseason hoping to take another step forward in year three under Steve Sarkisian.

However, while football will always be king in Texas, the football team finds itself taking a backseat to the men's basketball team for the time being.

As for why the basketball team is the current talk of the town? Well, when you make the Sweet 16 for the first time in 15 years, it is a big deal.

Leading the charge for the Longhorns is interim head coach Rodney Terry, who took over mid-season following the suspension and eventual firing of Chris Beard. While Terry and the Longhorns continue their pursuit of the first championship in program history, Sarkisian had plenty of praise for the interim coach.

"I text him after every game 'You're an inspiration'," Sarkisian said. "To step into that role, handle adversity the way he has and lead that team. I'm fired up for those guys on Friday night."

Football will likely always reign supreme in Texas, especially for the Longhorns.

Despite that, though, Terry and his team have the attention of Longhorns everywhere as they continue their pursuit of a national championship.

Including that football team, and Sarkisian himself.
