Longhorns Make Big Jump in AP Top 25 Rankings

After taking down the Kansas State Wildcats in a comeback win on the road Saturday, the Texas Longhorns have made a significant jump in the AP Top 25.
In this story:

The Texas Longhorns have risen five spots to No. 5 in the AP Top 25 after Saturday's 69-66 win over the Kansas State Wildcats, per Monday's rankings release.

The Longhorns (19-4, 8-2) will visit the No. 9 Kansas Jayhawks Monday night at Allen Fieldhouse. Kansas dropped one spot from No. 8.

In the win over K-State, the Horns trailed by as many as 14 in the first half but rallied in the final frame to secure their fourth double-digit comeback win of conference play.

As expected, six of the 10 teams in the Big 12 remain ranked in the poll, with Texas now being the highest. Here's the rankings for the conference:

No. 5 Texas Longhorns

No. 9 Kansas Jayhawks

No. 11 Iowa State Cyclones

No. 12 Kansas State Wildcats

No. 14 Baylor Bears

No. 17 TCU Horned Frogs

With a road win over Kansas on Monday, the Longhorns could vault themselves up even further while simultaneously getting in strong position to be a No. 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament.

Texas and Kansas tip-off at 8 p.m. CT.
