No. 10 Longhorns vs. No. 7 Kansas State: Preview, How to Watch & Betting Odds
The No. 10 Texas Longhorns are set to pay a grueling visit to Manhattan Saturday to take on the No. 7 Kansas State Wildcats at Bramlage Coliseum.
The Longhorns (18-4, 7-2) are currently first in a tight Big 12 race while the Wildcats (18-4, 6-3) are in fifth place but could potentially shift into that top spot with a win on Saturday.
The first meeting between the two teams in Austin on Jan. 3 came with some historical results, as then-unranked Kansas State came away with a 116-103 win over then-No. 6 Texas.
For Texas, 116 points marked only the third time since 1980 that the Longhorns allowed their opponent to cross the century mark at home. It was also the most points allowed in a Big 12 game in program history.
For Kansas State, 116 on the scoreboard was clearly a season-best mark. And according to available records dating back to 1949, this scoring mark set an all-time high for the program.
The Wildcats have gotten close to this total before, scoring 115 during two separate games in 1991 and 1994. But Kansas State made history in Austin in that first meeting.
Safe to say that it's unlikely both teams reach the century mark in regulation on Saturday. But regardless of how many points get up on the board, it's still set to be one of the most anticipated matchups in the country for the Saturday slate.
