AUSTIN -- Texas Longhorns men's basketball will bring a talented 2024 recruiting class with it to the SEC next season, but there will be some injury questions to answer once the offseason rolls around.

Texas 2024 four-star signee Nic Codie suffered a knee injury that forced him to miss the remainder of his high school season, according to Greg Riddle of The Dallas Morning News. A potential injury timetable is still unknown, per Riddle's report.

The Newman Smith (Carrollton, TX) star has averaged 14.1 points and 8.4 rebounds this season. However, without Codie on the floor, Newman Smith lost in the first round of the playoffs on Tuesday.

Depending on the severity of the injury, it's possible Codie could miss the beginning of offseason workouts once he arrives to the Forty Acres, though more details will be needed to know for sure.

Guards Tre Johnson (Dallas) and Cam Scott (Lexington, S.C.) join Codie as headliners for a 2024 recruiting class that is currently ranked No. 9 overall in 247Sports' 2024 team recruiting rankings.

Codie made an unofficial visit to the Forty Acres in June before making his official visit to Austin on Sept. 15.

Per 247 Sports' Composite rankings, the 6-9, 200-pound Codie is the No. 10 power forward in the country and No. 1 overall in the state of Texas. He was fielding offers from other elite programs like Miami, Kansas, Texas Tech, Auburn, Houston, LSU, Alabama and more.

Rodney Terry Praises 2024 Signee Tre Johnson: 'Next-Level Ability'

"Every since I stepped into Texas and ever since they started recruiting me it felt like home," Codie said after committing. "The whole team, whole coaching staff showed me love. I feel like it's deeper than basketball with Texas. We just have a real good relationship, and I just love the program. They have a history of winning ... I just feel like I can bring a national championship to Texas."
