Longhorns' Rodney Terry Visits USC Transfer Reese Dixon-Waters

The Texas Longhorns are looking to lure USC Trojans transfer Reese Dixon-Waters to Austin. He won the Pac-12 Sixth Man of the Year this past season.

Texas Longhorns coach Rodney Terry is making his rounds in Southern California this week.

While making a stop to catch up with Texas 2023 signee A.J. Johnson ahead of his freshman season, Terry also got down to some recruiting work, as he made an in-home visit with USC Trojans transfer guard Reese Dixon-Waters on Thursday, per Inside Texas.

Take a look:

Dixon-Waters won the Pac-12 Sixth Man of the Year this season after making just eight starts in 29 games. He averaged 9.8 points, 3.2 rebounds and 1.1 assists per contest.

One of his best games of the year came in a 88-78 win over Long Beach St. on Dec. 14, as he put together an all-around performance with 20 points, three rebounds, four assists, two blocks and two steals while coming off the bench. He reached double figures in scoring in five of USC's last seven games of the season.

At 6-5, 210, Dixon-Waters could provide nice size in the backcourt off the bench, as he could fill a similar sixth-man role that he had with the Trojans should he commit to the Texas.

The Longhorns are already losing guards Marcus Carr and Sir'Jabari Rice while Tyrese Hunter's return remains uncertain as he's set to give the NBA a shot while maintaining his eligibility. Adding Dixon-Waters to the fold would give Texas a much-needed guard presence ahead of season that will see the team undergo major roster overturn.
