Longhorns Coach Rodney Terry Confronts 'Classless' UCF Players: 'Don't Do That (Bleep)!'
AUSTIN -- Already disappointed after his team blew a 15-point second-half lead in what turned into a 77-71 loss, Texas Longhorns coach Rodney Terry had some additional frustrations for the visiting UCF Knights in the post-game handshake line at the Moody Center on Wednesday night.
Instead of the usual "good game" remarks, Terry had some words for UCF players. A video from KVUE's Tyler Feldman shows Terry repeatedly telling the Knights "that's classless" while the two teams exchanged pleasantries.
During the postgame press conference, Terry said that the UCF players were doing the "Horns Down" in the handshake line, which led to his reaction.
"Don't do that (bleep). Don't do that!" Terry can be heard saying to UCF guard Shemarri Allen in the video.
Take a look:
While the "Horns Down" gesture is commonplace among fans that don't like Texas, Terry took exception to seeing the opposing players do it as soon as the game ended.
"That's what I was angry about and I was letting those guys know you don't do that," Terry said. "You guys won, we shake your hand, tip our hat to you, but we're not gonna let you act that way in our building. You're not gonna do that, you're not gonna put your Horns down and do all that nonsense."
Longhorns Suffer Crushing Loss to UCF
The Longhorns (12-5) have now fallen to 1-3 in Big 12 play and will face an uphill battle ahead of four straight matchups against teams that are currently ranked, starting with No. 9 Baylor at home on Saturday.
