Longhorns Ex DeMarvion Overshown Suffers Serious Injury in Preseason
Dallas Cowboys rookie DeMarvion Overshown made a good play on defense in the early going against the Seattle Seahawks during Saturday's preseason action at Lumen Field ... but Overshown went down with an apparent left knee injury.
There is now concern from the Cowboys that Overshown may have torn his left ACL ... with an MRI planned. Per the Dallas Morning News, the Cowboys "fear" that Overshown tore his left ACL. However, nothing is official until the MRI.
Overshown had walked off the field under his own power, but was then carted off to the locker room once he made it to the sidelines.
Overshown was an anchor for a vastly improved Longhorns defense in 2022, recording 96 total tackles with 10 tackles for loss and four sacks while showing off his coverage skills with five passes deflected.
He matched his productive final season with a strong pre-draft process, which saw his draft stock rise and ultimately land him in the third round where he will look to make a strong first impression.
"A rangy stacked backer whose athletic profile lends him to versatile usage on the football field," SI Draft Bible wrote about Overshown.
He was the second Longhorn drafted, joining Bijan Robinson who went at No. 8 overall to the Atlanta Falcons.
The Cowboys keep the Longhorn product in-state, allowing him to join a defense led by Micah Parsons. But his rookie season may now be over before it began.
