Former Longhorns Volleyball Star Logan Eggleston Awarded McLendon Minority Postgraduate Scholarship
Logan Eggleston, former Texas outside hitter powerhouse with a 2022 NCAA National Championship title under her belt is now the recipient of the McLendon Minority Postgraduate Scholarship. Eggleston is a current professional volleyball player for Galatasaray HDI Sigorta, a women’s volleyball club in Turkey,
On Wednesday, the McLendon Foundation announced that Eggleston would be one of eight individuals awarded the prestigious postgraduate scholarship. Each recipient will receive $10,000 to aid postgraduate studies in athletic administration.
Eggleston spent five memorable years on the Forty Acres. During her time at Texas, she racked up 1,921 total kills and etched herself into third place in the Longhorns' volleyball all-time record book for kills. She places only behind Mira Topic (2001-2004) and Demetria Sance (1995-1998).
During her final season as a Longhorn student-athlete in 2022, Eggleston delivered a Texas volleyball record 208 service aces in her college career. She surpassed Topic who previously held the ace record.
Aside from her impeccable athletic abilities and being a model of consistency for Texas volleyball, Eggleston took her off-court duties very seriously.
Eggleston upheld the role as president of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee for two years during her days at Texas.
The organization provided fundraisers such as the DNA Fund to help raise money in purchasing sporting equipment and aid sporting opportunities to the underprivileged youth in Austin who struggle with access to experience the joy of sports.
Eggleston hopes to pursue a career in collegiate sports administration down the road. She is interested in pursuing the Sports Management Master’s Program at Texas to aid her in reaching her goal.
