Quinn Ewers Listed on FanDuel's Way-Too-Early 2024 Heisman Trophy Contenders
Months away from the start of spring football, there is speculation for the 2024 Heisman odds via FanDuel. Texas Longhorns quarterback Quinn Ewers is at the top of FanDuel's list at +750 after the team's College Football Playoff run.
While Ewers wasn't in the running in 2023, winner Jayden Daniels and fellow finalists Marvin Harrison Jr. of Ohio State, Bo Nix of Oregon, and Michael Penix Jr. of Washington will move on to the NFL after this season.
With Ewers's return in 2024, the Longhorns could find themselves back in contention. In the previous season, Ewers threw for 3,161 yards, with 21 touchdowns and six interceptions with a 70.7 percent completion rate in 11 games.
The potential return of Texas tailback Jonathan Brooks, who amassed 1,139 yards with 10 touchdowns, adds another layer of competitiveness, contingent on his recovery from a torn ACL and potential NFL draft considerations.
Another possible Heisman candidate according to FanDuel could be fellow SEC quarterback Jalen Milroe at +1200. With 2,834 yards on the season, 23 touchdowns, six interceptions and a 65.8 percent completion rate. After being benched following a home loss to Texas in Week 2, Milroe reclaimed the starting position, guiding the Crimson Tide to another SEC championship and a coveted CFP appearance.
Arrests Made In Oklahoma State Fraternity Dead Longhorn Case
Other notable contenders include Georgia's Carson Beck +750, Dillon Gabriel +1,000, who recently transferred from Oklahoma to Oregon, and Kansas State's Will Howard +1200.
While it can be fun to speculate, a lot can happen in an offseason and a season for that matter, but many believe returning quarterback Quinn Ewers will be in the race come December. Will the final four candidates include a returning starter like Ewers? A sleeper who comes out of nowhere? Or even a transfer playing at a new school?
With all of the transfer portal talent coming to Texas, through the trusty Alabama Crimson Tide pipeline, Ewers case is looking good on paper.
