Urban Meyer Makes Bold Claim About 'Loaded' Longhorns
The prevailing theory about the Texas Longhorns last season was that, had a couple of bounces gone their way - particularly against the Alabama Crimson Tide - that things could have been much different.
After all, the Horns were a questionable non-safety call on a should-have-been sack of Bryce Young from potentially pulling off the biggest upset of the college football season.
While that could be representative of wishful thinking to most, former Ohio State Buckeyes head coach Urban Meyer doubled down on that idea, praising the Longhorns and their 'loaded' roster ahead of the new campaign.
"They are loaded," Meyer said to Letterman's Row reporter Tim May. "There's a five-star athlete at every position on offense. I watched them against Alabama last year. They should have won that game. If Quinn Ewers doesn't go down, I believe Texas beats Alabama and the whole 2022 season is completely different."
The Longhorns will have a chance to prove Meyer right in Week 2, when they travel to Tuscaloosa to take on that very same Crimson Tide team.
Albeit without the former Heisman Trophy winner in Young under center.
And while it will be a tall task to pull off the win at Bryant Denny Stadium for any program, the Longhorns, at least according to Meyer, will certainly have enough talent to have a chance.
