OFFICIAL: Texas Longhorns Sign Four-Star DB Wardell Mack

The Texas Longhorns continue to add to their top-five recruiting class.

It has been quite an eventful past couple days for the Texas Longhorns, as they landed multiple top recruits to their already impressive class.

On Wednesday, that continued, with four-star corner and Louisiana native Wardell Mack signing with the Texas Longhorns.

Mack explained what ultimately helped him change his mind, citing his relationship with head coach Steve Sarkisian.

“What stood out to me is how much of a priority I was to the program and coaches,” Mack said. “Coach Sark visited me numerous times during the spring which made me take a more in depth look into their program. Also, me communicating with coach Sark every day added a plus.”

He also revealed that in talking with defensive backs coach Terry Joseph and Sarkisian what his future role will be in Austin.

“Coach Terry Joseph and Coach Sark,” Mack said. “They plan on using me as an outside corner and nickel back due to my versatility and playmaking ability.”

The Longhorns have a stellar secondary this season, but are expecting to lose a handful of veterans.
