No. 7: Texas Longhorns

The Longhorns had a 10 win season, including a Sugar Bowl win over Georgia. But can Texas climb higher than that?

Texas is BACK.

Right?

Well, as one of my good friends Reid Laymance, a Texas Ex, who is now the Sports Editor of the Houston Chronicle, told me, "Let's see what happens with LSU and OU?''

The good-news or bad news is that we will know early, perhaps by the second week of the season when SEC power in waiting LSU visits Austin. And then there is the annual battle in Dallas with Oklahoma (which could be the first of two meetings between those rivals).

Texas CAN get back or WILL get back if the Longhorns are 6-0 on Oct. 13.

And Coach Tom Herman has done a nice job of finally putting the Longhorns on the right trail back into the Top 10.

But there are so many questions that go far beyond the skills of QB Sam Ehlinger, who carried most of the offensive load for Texas last season.

More questions than answers which is why we are still holding off on the Texas is back talk--until at least October.
