Former UCF tight end Jordan Franks gets Super Bowl ring with Chiefs.

Former Knight Jordan Franks won his NFL championship as the Kansas City Chiefs defeated the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl LVII on Sunday.

The tight end spent all of the 2022 season on the Chiefs’ practice squad/injured list. As he was under contract with the organization during the Super Bowl, the Wakulla, Florida native is eligible to receive a ring despite not playing this season.

Former UCF kicker Matthew Wright also spent time with Kansas City this season but was waived one day after the AFC Championship Game.

Franks spent four years with UCF, being part of the 2017 undefeated squad that won the Peach Bowl against Gus Malzahn’s Auburn Tigers. In his senior year, he received First-Team All-American Athletic Conference honors.

After going undrafted in 2018, Franks spent time with the Cincinnati Bengals, Philadelphia Eagles and Cleveland Browns. He then joined Super Bowl LVII MVP Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs in January 2022.

Franks becomes the 11th Knight to win the Super Bowl. He joins a list that includes four-time Pro Bowlers Josh Sitton (XLV) and Asante Samuel (XXXVIII, XXXIX). In last year’s Super Bowl, UCF was represented by Los Angeles Rams’ wide receiver Jacob Harris.
