UCLA Women's Basketball: Charisma Osborne Officially Declares for the WNBA Draft
UCLA women's basketball standout Charisma Osborne has officially declared for the WNBA Draft. After five seasons with the Bruins, Osborne will now move on to professional basketball. The 2024 WNBA Draft will be held on April 15.
Osborne made the announcement as part of a lengthy statement she posted on social media. As part of her statement, Osborne thanked UCLA while addressing her next move.
“Thank you to my coaches, the staff, and the UCLA basketball program for believing in me and pushing me to do and be my best," Osborne said. "The growth I’ve experienced over the last five years reflects the mission of who UCLA is and continues to be! Bruin Nation! THANK YOU! The people, the memories, and that Bruin love is something I will never forget. I’m so incredibly proud to be a Bruin and honored to have been able to represent those four letters.
"While it may be sad that this beautiful chapter is ending, I’m excited for what’s next," Osborne said. "It’s been a dream of mine to play at the highest level, and I couldn’t be more thrilled to declare for the 2024 WNBA Draft.”
During her five seasons at UCLA, Osborne was consistently one of the team's top players. Osborne made the All-Pac-12 team four different times and was named to the Pac-12 All-Defensive team twice. She helped lead UCLA to back-to-back NCAA Sweet 16 appearances in her final two seasons and averaged 14.9 points, 5.6 rebounds, and 3.1 assists per game. In total, Osborne finished her UCLA career with 2,272 points, 845 rebounds, and 477 assists.
