The Bruins have spent the last week chasing after defensive backs and now, one has reciprocated that interest.

Class of 2022 cornerback Ephesians Prysock announced his top five Thursday, with UCLA football making the cut alongside USC, Oregon, Tennessee and Michigan. Prysock previously announced his top 10 on March 9, and Notre Dame, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Arizona State, Texas and LSU were the schools that did not make it through Prysock's second round of elimination.

The Bruins sent their offer to Prysock on Sept. 2, 2020, several months before Tennessee and almost a full year before Michigan.

The 6-foot-3, 170-pound defensive back from Bishop Alemany (CA) in Mission Hills took unofficial visits to USC and Michigan and an official visit to Ohio State over the summer.

Prysock has posted seven tackles and three passes defended in three games so far this season at Bishop Alemany, as well as six receptions for 70 yards and a touchdown. Back in his full sophomore season in 2019, Prysock had 15 receptions for 163 yards and a touchdown on the offensive side of the ball and 43 tackles and 1 pass defended on defense in 12 appearances.

The 247Sports Composite, Rivals and ESPN all list Prysock as a four-star recruit. The 247Sports Composite has him as the No. 26 corner and No. 215 player in the country, Rivals has him a step up at No. 24 and No. 210 and ESPN has him at No. 14 and No. 225.

UCLA has offered three class of 2023 cornerbacks in the last week, and still does not have a commitment out of the six it offered in the class of 2022. Athlete Clint Stephens can play receiver, corner or safety, but that's the closest the Bruins have gotten to a true cornerback commit this cycle.

Of those who remain uncommitted, the Bruins are looking at Prysock, Cameron Sampson and Jomarion Briggs. Every UCLA-offered cornerback in the class of 2022 is at least 6 feet tall, with Prysock measuring in as the tallest at 6-foot-3.

UCLA has 10 commits in its 2022 class, which ranks No. 5 in the Pac-12 and No. 41 in the country in the 247Sports Composite.
