UCLA Football: Laiatu Latu Taken by AFC Powerhouse in NFL.com Mock Draft
One of the better pass rushes in this year's NFL Draft hauls from UCLA. Bruins' star pass rusher Laiatu Latu is expected to go somewhere within the first round of the upcoming draft, after he shined with UCLA the last two seasons.
Latu put together a special 2023 season, posting 13 sacks over 12 games. His ability to get to the quarterback is impressive and has potential NFL teams salivating at the thought of grabbing him in the first round.
In his latest NFL mock draft, NFL.com's Chad Reuter has the Buffalo Bills taking Latu toward the end of the draft at pick No. 28. Buffalo needs to add to their defense, so Latu could be the perfect addition.
"The Bills could stretch for a receiver here to help replace the recently traded Stefon Diggs, but Latu's value at No. 28 overall is too good to pass up. He'll pair nicely with Greg Rousseau, another bargain/late-first edge rusher already on Buffalo's roster (selected 30th overall in 2021). The neck injury Latu suffered at Washington early in his career could be a factor in his final draft position, regardless of his talent."
The Bills could use someone like Latu, especially with Von Miller getting up there in age. Latu could learn from one of the best in NFL history, which could be beneficial to his development.
Latu could come in on day one and potentially start for Buffalo, which would be a game-changer on their defensive front. He was special with the Bruins and his play is going to earn him a chance to be taken high in the draft.
