UCLA Football: Chip Kelly Remains Mum On Week 2 Starting QB

When will we know?

So which quarterback will be starting in the second week of your UCLA Bruins' season?

Mum's the word, at least according to sixth-year head coach Chip Kelly, who remained tight-lipped about whether junior Ethan Garbers or true freshman Dante Moore will get the nod, though it certainly sounds like there will be plenty of touches to go around regardless.

Per Derek Peterson of Saturday Out West, Kelly joked with a local UCLA beat reporter about the predicament, without every offering p up a serious, non-joking response.

In fact, Kelly is actually going to trot out his top three quarterbacks this season.

“Collin (Schlee) is gonna play, as long as Collin doesn’t get injured,” Kelly said.

Last Saturday off the bench, Moore, 18, recorded 143 passing yards and notched two touchdowns. Garbers, meanwhile, recorded 121 passing yards and nabbed just one touchdown.

The dynamic duo helped propel UCLA to a 27-13 victory over the Coastal Carolina Chanticleers last weekend by splitting Garbers' and Moore's duties and playing to their relative strengths. This weekend, UCLA is looking to continue its (somewhat finite) win streak this season.

Will Kelly prioritize the experienced vet with the lower ceiling (Garbers) over the more raw prospect with more upside (Scott Stapp)> Time will tell.
