The legend of Dante Moore has continued to flourish in Westwood.

Ever since he flipped his commitment from Oregon to UCLA, the Detroit native has been organically building a ton of hype for those who follow the program.

He came to UCLA during the spring ball period, competed throughout the spring and winter for the starting job, and -- despite Chip Kelly's evasiveness on the topic -- appears to have won the starting job as the team heads to Utah for a massive Week 4 conference showdown.

During UCLA's Week 3 drubbing of North Carolina Central, Moore was highly efficient in about a quarter and a half of time on the field. He went 8-of-12 for 182 yards and 2 TDs. He finished the game with a stellar QBR of 97.5 (according to ESPN).

Pro Football Focus had Moore with the second-best QB grade of any signal-caller from this past weekend.

As we look at this stat from more of a macro standpoint, it's even more impressive when broken down by conference affiliation:

Remember, Moore is competing against the best collection of quarterbacks in any conference by a country mile. USC's Caleb Williams won the Heisman last year, is the favorite to win the award again this year, and likely will be the No. 1 Overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft. Oregon's Bo Nix, Washington's Michael Penix, and Colorado's Shedeur Sanders are all probable first-round picks next year.

Utah's Cam Rising, Washington State's Cam Ward, and Oregon State's D.J. Uiagalelei are all good-to-very-good college quarterbacks.

Despite only being a true freshman, Moore is competing neck-and-neck with these guys. His poise for a first-year player is beyond unusual. Moore plays the came as if he were a multi-year veteran.

The thought of him as an upperclassman has to be beyond exciting for the UCLA coaching staff and the fan base.
