Dorian Thompson-Robinson continues to climb his way through the record books.

The UCLA football (2-0) quarterback tossed three touchdowns Saturday night against No. 16 LSU (0-1) in his team's eventual 38-27 victory. His first, a 75-yard touchdown to tight end Greg Dulcich early in the second quarter, gave Thompson-Robinson 42 touchdown passes in his Bruin career, vaulting him over Troy Aikman and tying him for sixth-most in Bruin history.

A 14-yard touchdown to receiver Chase Cota on the Bruins' first offensive drive of the second half made it 43 for Thompson-Robinson, bumping Cory Paus down the list and giving Thompson-Robinson sole possession of the No. 6 spot. A third touchdown pass to receiver Kyle Philips in the fourth quarter helped UCLA put the game away, and it also gave Thompson-Robinson an extra boost on the leaderboards.

Following last week's win over Hawaii, Thompson-Robinson was tied with Aikman with 41 career touchdown passes.

The Bruins' offense got one big chunk play after another out of the passing game Saturday, as Thompson-Robinson hit receiver Kazmeir Allen 35 yards down field on the opening drive. Thompson-Robinson and Allen connected for a 44-yard touchdown pass Week 0 against Hawaii.

Thompson-Robinson only completed nine passes Saturday, and that's all he needed to rack up 260 yards through the air. Six of those nine completions went for 19 or more yards, and he averaged 16.3 yards per attempt on the night.

For his career, Thompson-Robinson now has 5,522 passing yards. He entered 2021 trailing Aikman and Tommy Maddox on the all-time UCLA leaderboards, and it took him two games to leapfrog both of them into seventh place. At the pace he's working at, Thompson-Robinson is projected to end the season in fifth after skirting past Paus and Tom Ramsey.

Thompson-Robinson is well within reach of passing Ramsey and Josh Rosen's career touchdown marks this season as well, and could possibly threaten Cade McNown and Drew Olson in the No. 2 and 3 spots should he approach 30 touchdown passes in 2021.
