UCLA Football: Dorian Thompson-Robinson's NFL Debut Doesn't Go As Planned

But he may get another chance...

Upon being selected with the 140th pick in the fifth round of this year's NFL draft, former two-time Second-Team All-Pac-12 UCLA Bruins quarterback Dorian Thompson-Robinson didn't expect to see much action, given that he'd be playing behind a controversial multi-time Pro Bowler inked to a five-year, fully-guaranteed $230 million contract through the 2026 season.

Stepping in for the odious (and injured) DeShaun Watson today against the Baltimore Ravens, the 23-year-old rookie struggled to get much cooking in his first-ever NFL game, a start, for a solid Cleveland Browns club.

In a lopsided 28-3 loss today, DTR completed 19 of 36 attempted passes for 121 total yards and zero touchdowns. He also coughed up three interceptions. With the defeat, Cleveland falls to a 2-2 record on the young 2023 NFL season.

But that may not be all she wrote for the former Bruins standout. At least, not just yet.

Per Gavin Carlson of The Daily Bruin, Watson may miss the Browns' Game 5 matchup next week against the undefeated San Francisco 49ers, as the pricey Cleveland signal caller continues to grapple with a shoulder injury incurred last week. Thompson-Robinson could have a chance to redeem his shoddy play this weekend.
