One of the top prospects in Southern California is officially on the Bruins' recruiting board.

UCLA football has sent an offer to class of 2025 cornerback Daryus Dixson, the Mater Dei (CA) prospect announced Friday on Twitter. Coming in at 6-foot-1 and 180 pounds, Dixson has been reeling in Power Five offers since his freshman year of high school.

Dixson's other offers are from Arizona, Arizona State, Auburn, Boston College, Cal, Colorado, Miami (FL), Michigan State, Notre Dame, Oklahoma, Ole Miss, Oregon, Oregon State, Tennessee, Texas, Texas A&M, UNLV, USC, Utah and Washington.

After showing out at the Rivals Camp Series in Los Angeles on March 12, Dixson secured Defensive Back MVP honors at the Under Armour Next Camp. Although he has yet to come out to Westwood, Dixson told 247Sports that he has a visit booked with the Bruins on Saturday.

Dixson broke out as a sophomore this past fall, recording 37 tackles, two interceptions and four pass breakups for the Monarchs.

Dixson is a four-star recruit, according to 247Sports and Rivals, but On3 has him pegged as a three-star. In the 247Sports Composite, Dixson is ranked as the No. 10 player in California, the No. 11 cornerback in the country and the No. 83 overall prospect in his class.

Among cornerbacks in the West region, Dixson is ranked No. 2 only behind Mission Viejo (CA) prospect Dijon Lee.

UCLA has turned up the heat on recruiting Mater Dei this offseason, first securing a commitment from four-star class of 2024 cornerback Khristian Dunbar-Hawkins in January. The Bruins offered four-star class of 2024 safety Jeilani Davis in January, then Dixson and five-star class of 2025 running back Jordon Davison in April.

Dixson is the eighth player in the class of 2025 to pick up an offer from the Bruins. Before this week, the team had only offered five, all of whom were quarterbacks and linebackers.

In his interview with 247Sports, Dixson said his UCLA offer came from safeties coach Brian Norwood, rather than first-year cornerbacks coach Kodi Whitfield or new defensive coordinator D'Anton Lynn. Norwood spent the past three seasons as the Bruins' defensive backs coach, and has been the primary recruiter for the secondary ever since he got to Westwood in 2020.
