UCLA Football: First Look at Bruins' New Jumpman Homecoming Uniforms

UCLA will be styling for its game against Colorado.

It isn't often that we see UCLA athletics programs debut unique uniforms.

The school prides itself on the blue and gold primary colors—which are quite recognizable across the world. Many believe that the UCLA home football jerseys are among the more beautiful ones in the sport.

UCLA's newfound partnership with Jumpman did draw some intrigue and excitement—especially with the younger end of those supporting the university. The hope was that we'd see some more modernized uniforms trickle out every once in a while. This could even include jerseys paying homage to the past.

On Monday morning, Jumpman and UCLA surprised everyone with this terrific teaser video ahead of Saturday's Homecoming showdown versus Colorado:

These beautiful powder-keg blue uniforms with the white striped curled over-the-shoulder pads pay respect to a time when UCLA Football was among the best in the sport.

Back in 1954, UCLA went 9-0 under legendary head coach Red Sanders. They shared the National Title that year with Ohio State. It also marked the first year in which the Bruins wore this jersey.

Also in the hype video, we saw footage of a young Terry Donahue—as well as QB Gary Beban. To this day, Beban is the only UCLA Football player to have won the Heisman Trophy.

There's plenty of excitement surrounding Saturday's contest. Aside from it being Homecoming weekend, it's also a sell-out crowd. The Colorado Buffaloes come to town with arguably the most famous coach in the country, Deion Sanders.

His son, Shedeur Sanders, has been one of the better QBs in the Pac-12 this season. Travis Hunter, the two-way dynamo who transferred to CU from Jackson State, is a player dripping with NFL ability.

Based on the expected pageantry surrounding the game—including the uniforms and the celebrities expected to be in attendance—it should be a very fun atmosphere at the Rose Bowl.
