UCLA Football: Former All-Pac 12 QB Could Return Against The Bruins

Unfortunately for UCLA, he could be making his season debut this week.

Ahead of its top 25 matchup against UCLA on Saturday, the Utah Utes may be getting a key player back from injury.

Quarterback Cam Rising is expected to make his season debut for the Utes on Saturday.

He has been out since last year's Rose Bowl game when he suffered an ACL injury.

In his time with Utah, Rising has created a reputation for being a winner. He has brought Utah to the brink of a college football playoff berth each of the past two seasons.

Unfortunately, for Rising and the Utes, the past two seasons have ended with a Rose Bowl loss.

In three seasons, Rising has thrown for 5,572 yards, 46 touchdowns and 14 interceptions.

The Bruins will have a test with Rising if he does make a comeback this week.

The Utes defeated the Bruins in Salt Lake in 2021 by a score of 44-24. Rising threw for 174 yards and a touchdown. On the ground, he rushed for 63 yards.

The Bruins returned the favor last year in Pasadena by taking down Utah 42-32. Despite the loss, Rising had a better game as he threw for a season-high 287 yards but no touchdowns. He did score however using his feet twice in that game.

Saturday could be the third edition of Rising vs. the Bruins. If he does come back he will be looking for revenge for last year's game.
