Dorian Thompson-Robinson was a star with the UCLA Bruins during his time from 2018-2022. He was selected in the fifth round of the NFL Draft by the Cleveland Browns, and he has most recently been receiving awards along with the QB2 spot on the 53-man roster.

Thompson-Robinson showed out for the Browns in the preseason, passing for 440 yards, two touchdowns, zero interceptions, and 69 yards on the ground.

The dual-threat quarterback has been a force since he wore a Bruins uniform in 2018. The 23-year-old rookie is leaving the Bruins as their all-time leading passer and touchdown thrower.

In his UCLA career, he threw for 10,710 yards and 88 touchdowns. He also ran for 1,826 yards and 28 touchdowns on the ground.

The talent has quickly translated to the NFL. Coming into the preseason, Thompson-Robinson had to battle against two other quarterbacks, Joshua Dobbs and Kellen Mond, for the backup QB position behind Deshaun Watson.

While the other two QBs showed some positive, most of it was put in the rearview mirror when DTR stepped on the field. Showing the calmness and poise that a multi-year college starter has, he had a very impressive preseason and won the backup QB spot.

While DTR may not see too many snaps during the regular season, any injury to the starting Watson would launch DTR into the starting role, and that is a move that the Browns are comfortable with after his impressive start to his young career.
