UCLA Football: Insider Makes Case For Dante Moore As Year's Most Impressive Freshman
Your UCLA Bruins have enjoyed quite the start to their 2023 season, posting two straight impressive wins to kick things off.
Perhaps the most impressive element of said impressive start has been the play of true freshman quarterback Dante Moore, who in just his second week was installed by head coach Chip Kelly as the program's starter under center.
In a Twitter/X poll posed to college football fans all across the platform, the official Fox College Football account asked which freshman among Moore, USC Trojans wide receiver Zachariah Branch, Notre Dame Fighting Irish wide receiver Jaden Greathouse, and Colorado Buffaloes running back Dylan Edwards was having the best debut season thus far.
Barstool Sports' UCLA Twitter fandom account explained why Moore deserved to make the cut:
Per the NCAA's official site, Moore is averaging 11.9 yards per attempt and notching a 192 passer efficiency rating through the club's first two games. He has completed 24 of his 39 total pass tries (61.5%) and is logging 2.5 touchdowns per bout.
The Bruins have won by an average margin of 19.5 points in their two games thus far this year, having vanquished the Coastal Carolina University Chanticleers 27-13 two weeks ago at the Rose Bowl and the San Diego State University Aztecs 35-10 this past Saturday on the road. Moore's contributions have been a big reason why.
