UCLA Football: Laiatu Lau Inks Creative New NIL Deal

The standout DE is using his impact on the field for a good cause off it.

UCLA defensive end Laiatu Latu has reportedly agreed to what could be a lucrative new NIL clothing deal.

Per Jeremy Crabtree of On3, Latu -- along with six other defenders from elite programs across the country -- will be a part of SAXX Underwear's new "realignment" campaign.

Along with USC linebacker Shane Lee, Michigan defensive end Braiden McGregor, TCU linebacker Jamoi Hodge, Colorado linebacker Jordan Domineck, and Miami defensive end Jahfari Harvey, Latu comprises a collective that will be known as the “All-SAXX Conference” team.

Each time a All-SAXX Conference team member sacks a quarterback, the company will donate $1,000 to the Testicular Cancer Foundation. Throughout the rest of the 2023 NCAA season, the six All-SAXX player partners will promote awareness to the testicular cancer cause via appearances and social media posts.

“We obviously had some fun with the creative for this program, but it was important to us that there was a meaningful philanthropic angle to the final product,” SAXX chief executive officer Wendy Bennison reflected in a press statement. “We’ve long supported the Testicular Cancer Foundation, so we couldn’t be more excited to collaborate with some of the most prolific sackers in college football on this worthy initiative.”

Latu, a 6'5", 265-pound senior out of Sacramento, has recorded seven solo touchdowns and four sacks already this season, along with one interception and one forced fumble.
