UCLA Football: Are the Bruins Close to Landing Another 2025 Commitment?
UCLA landed one 2025 commitment over the weekend in DB Kuron Jabari Jr.
Is a second one on the way?
According to 247Sports analyst Blair Angulo, the Bruins appear to be in a good spot for an elite prospect a stone's throw from campus.
2025 DE/OLB Scott Taylor visited UCLA this past weekend. He came away with an offer, and the Bruins could be the prohibitive favorite for him at this point. Angulo launched a 'crystal ball' prediction for Taylor in favor of UCLA.
When a reporter at 247Sports makes such a prediction, it's usually a good indication the recruit will end up at that school more often than not.
Taylor hails from Loyola High School in Los Angeles. As one recalls, former UCLA star Anthony Barr attended the same high school.
Athletically, Taylor is impressive. He's listed at 6'4", 230 pounds. Though he's racked up some impressive numbers off the edge as a pass rusher, he can also play on offense as a pass-catching threat.
Over the weekend at the Rivals camp, Taylor won the MVP Award for the linebacker spot. We could envision a scenario in which his recruitment blows up in the wake of this honor.
At the same time, UCLA did a very smart thing by offering early. By building a relationship and getting Taylor on campus, the Bruins look to be in the driver's seat for a possible commitment.
In addition to UCLA, the versatile Taylor has offers from the likes of Arizona and a host of Ivy League schools.
