UCLA Football: Bruins Players Participating in Pro Day Revealed
The 13 players expected to participate at UCLA's Pro Day have been revealed. The Bruins will be hosting their Pro Day on Friday, March 15, allowing NFL teams and scouts to take a look at some of the top players from the school.
The expected participants include defensive back Kenny Churchwell, offensive lineman Duke Clemens, defensive lineman Jake Heimlicher, DB Alex Johnson, DL Carl Jones Jr., OL Khadere Kounta, DL Laiatu Latu, linebacker Darius Muasau, DL Gabriel Murphy, DL Grayson Murphy, wide receiver Josiah Norwood, running back Carson Steele and running back Colson Yankoff, via Tracy McDannald of UCLA Rivals.
The biggest name of the group is of course Laiatu Latu, who is expected to become a first-round pick in the 2024 NFL Draft. The unanimous All-American and Ted Hendricks award winner will have the chance to impress scouts again, after already putting in a good showing at the NFL Scouting Combine a couple of weeks ago. After leading the Pac-12 in sacks and the FBS in tackles for loss, it's no surprise that Latu will be attracting plenty of attention.
Outside of Latu, Gabriel Murphy, and Darius Muasau were the other two Bruins who participated in the NFL combine and will be performing again at the Pro Day. Like Latu, they'll have the opportunity to build off their combine stats.
For the other ten Bruins at the Pro Day, this is a great opportunity to make a strong showing ahead of the draft. For these likely late-round picks or undrafted players, this Pro Day is one of their best chances to impress scouts, especially with fewer other prospects for scouts to look at. With only Penn State and Wisconsin hosting their Pro Days on the same day, these players won't have much competition for attendance.
