Your UCLA Bruins' defense has been their calling card all season long, and it has helped them win multiple games this year. It is the identity of this Bruins team and defensive coordinator D'Anton Lynn has his guys clicking on all cylinders.

They are led by their elite edge rusher Laiatu Latu, who has been putting together a special season en route to being a probable high first round NFL draft pick next year. Through 11 games, Latu has 46 total tackles with 20.5 of them for loss. He also has added 13 sacks and one interception as well.

He has performed at a high level from the opening kickoff of the season, and it has helped him earn a spot in an exclusive honor. Latu has been named as a semifinalist for the Walter Camp Player of the Year award, per Brett McMurphy of The Action Network.

This is an incredible honor for the Bruins defender and shows just how dominant he has been this season. There are a ton of very talented players alongside him as semifinalists, and it proves that he is one of the best players in the country.

Latu will likely be one of the top picks in the upcoming NFL Draft, and he is going to make whatever team lands him very happy. His motor toward the game of football is impressive and has been a driving force for him throughout his career.

It remains to be seen if he will win the award, but just being named in the top 10 of the semifinalists is impressive. He has one more game in the regular season to make his case, and maybe he can show out to earn some points in the voting.
