UCLA Football: Dante Moore Lands With Pac-12 Competitor Out Of Transfer Portal
Just a few weeks after entering the transfer portal, former UCLA Bruins quarterback Dante Moore is heading to the University of Oregon, per Justin Hopkins of Scoop Duck/On3.
Along with UCLA, the true freshman will head with the Ducks from the Pac-12 to the Big Ten Conference.
If he earns the starting job, the Ducks travel to play UCLA on September 28th.
Moore played in nine games for the Bruins this past season, throwing for 1,610 yards with 11 touchdowns and nine interceptions. His turnovers were his downfall ultimately and, after stealing the starting job from junior Ethan Garbers following a stellar Game 1 performance, he subsequently lost the starting job to Garbers again midway through the season.
He showed some poise as the starter for the Bruins in different spots, but his lack of experience came out often. It caused him to make poor decisions with the football, and it saw the Bruins drop a few games that they easily could have won.
He now heads over to Oregon where he will likely compete for the starting job. Oregon also landed former Oklahoma Sooners quarterback Dillion Gabriel this offseason in the transfer portal.
Gabriel will likely be the starter for the Ducks, but Moore could give him a run for his money. He has all the talent in the world but may have been in the wrong place.
Moore said that he wanted to go to a program that could help him define his skillset, and he believes that Oregon will be able to do that.
