UCLA Football: Deion Sanders, Colorado Missing Early Confidence Heading Into Bruins Game

Bruins are rolling, Buffalos are reeling right now.
In this story:

As the UCLA Bruins get set for their matchup against the Colorado Buffalos this weekend, they will be going up against a team coming off their bye week ready to go. The last time we saw the Buffaloes, they dropped a heartbreaking game to Stanford, where they allowed the Cardinal to make a massive comeback.

Now Colorado knows that they need a win, but nobody knows what the mentality of the team will be. This will be something to watch for leading up to the game.

“Colorado created so much early-season momentum that the Buffs became the talk of college football. After losing three of their last four, the mindset of the Buffs following the bye week will be something worth following. Will they come out with that same early confidence and swag?”

Per Stacey Blackwood of Buffalos Wire

This is something that the Bruins will need to monitor throughout the game. Not that they care what the other side is doing as long as they play their games, but it still is a factor.

UCLA knows that Colorado has been reeling of late, and they are now a desperate team looking for a win. This tends to create a trap mentality for some teams, and it can be easy to fall victim to it. But the Bruins are likely preparing themselves in a do-or-die mentality.

They can’t afford to lose another game if they want any hope to win the Pac-12, and Colorado is just another team in their way. UCLA will need to come out strong early on to set the tone, and they can then build from there.

“Speaking of UCLA’s offense, it would be tough to find a team that has as much offensive balance as the Bruins, who have over 1,700 yards passing and over 1,500 yards rushing on the season. That is the type of balance that creates issues for opposing defenses.”

Per Stacey Blackwood of Buffalos Wire

The offense will be key for the Bruins in this matchup, and the team will need to find ways to continue not being one-dimensional. It has helped them get to this point, and it will be crucial against the Buffalos.
