UCLA Football: Edge Rusher Heaps Praise On Superstar Coach

He has been a savior for the Bruins this year.

Your UCLA Bruins have started their 2023 tilt off very strong with a stellar 4-1 record. Coming off a game where they made the high-powered Washington State offense look average, the Bruins know their defense is leading the way.

Defensive coordinator D'Anton Lynn has his guys working hard each game, and he has been a savior for this team. Defensive edge rusher Carl Jones Jr. spoke about Lynn, and what makes him such a great coach for the team.

"His knowledge of the game and concepts is just like crazy. He puts everybody in the best situation to make plays and ya know if you’re in that situation hopefully you make it."

The impact that Lynn has had on this defensive unit has been incredible to see. He has helped turn this defense into one of the best in the entire country, and they look like a real force to deal with.

It starts at the top and goes down to the bottom of the team. The Bruins have found their identity, and it has worked well for them. Jones Jr. gave more insight into why the Bruins defense has been so good this season compared to prior years.

"Everyone's mindset. We know the brotherhood that we have from the back end and that trickles down. We know if the front four takes care of their five then the back end is gonna be okay."

It takes a complete team effort to find the level of success that the Bruins have this year. They play for one another, and it has been one of the best parts of the season for them.

They will be getting another challenge this weekend as they head to Corvallis to take on the #15 ranked Oregon State Beavers. If they can get a win on the road in this one, it would set them up very well to potentially win the Pac-12 Conference.
