The UCLA Bruins took down the Boise State Broncos over the weekend to win the LA Bowl. It was their first bowl game win since the 2015 Alamo Bowl, and the game was led by quarterback Ethan Garbers.

Garbers didn't start the game for the Bruins, which came as a surprise to many. But he revealed the reason for it after the fact.

“This whole week, and just before the game, I wasn’t feeling 100 percent myself. When I looked out there – the team needed me and that’s my biggest priority. I sacrifice my body for the team and these guys. We put blood, sweat and tears into it. It’s all for them.”

Once Garbers came into the game, the Bruins' offense took off. They used a 21-0 advantage in the third quarter to send them to the victory in impressive fashion.

He threw for 152 yards and two touchdowns in the game, controlling the offensive flow. With Garbers in the game, the UCLA offense looked much more crisp and looked dominant.

It was an up-and-down season for the Bruins, but they at least got to end the year on a high note. It was a solid team win that they can now take into the offseason, to build off and learn from.
