UCLA Football: Ex-Bruins Wide Receiver Notches First-Ever NFL Touchdown
Former UCLA football players continue to make an impact on Sundays as another ex-Bruin scored his first touchdown.
In a 29-20 game against the Carolina Panthers in week three, Geno Smith of the Seattle Seahawks found Jake Bobo for a five-yard touchdown to put the game out of hand.
For Bobo, it was his second career reception and first time getting into the end zone.
The former Bruin is getting love from his college team as the Bruins reposted his touchdown grab on the team's X page.
Following the snag, Bobo celebrated with other Bruin football alums, including Zach Charbonnet and Raiqwon O'Neal.
Bobo is in his first year in the league after going undrafted in last year's NFL draft.
The Seahawks signed him to a rookie minimum deal following the draft, and the 25-year earned his spot on the roster through training camp.
At UCLA, Bobo showed that he can be an NFL-caliber wide receiver.
After coming over from Duke as a graduate transfer, Bobo was one of the top receivers in Chip Kelly's offense.
In 13 games, he racked up 57 catches for 817 yards and seven touchdowns.
His signature game came against Washington last season when he had six receptions for 142 yards and two touchdowns. The Bruins went on to win that game 40-32.
Now Bruins and Seahawks fans alike are hoping that Bobo will have many more touchdowns to come.
