UCLA Football: Free Ticket Promotion To Help Out Hawaii Fire Efforts
With the recent fire tragedies in Maui, organizations all across the globe have come together to raise funds for those in desperate need of help.
Wanting to help the cause, the UCLA Football program is offering a very fun promotion to its fans:
According to Ben Bolch of The Los Angeles Times, the program is giving away two free tickets to the season opener versus Coastal Carolina and tickets for the Week 3 contest against North Carolina Central. In order to receive the tickets, fans must donate $10 to select organizations supporting the Maui community.
This is a two-fold benefit for UCLA. Of course, helping a very noble cause is tremendous in and of itself. Secondly, this can help a very real problem the football team has been dealing with in recent years: Attendance.
As we chronicled a few days ago, attendance numbers at the Rose Bowl for UCLA home games have been virtually as bad as it's ever been. With all due respect to Coastal Carolina and North Carolina Central, neither are exactly what we'd call major draws from an interest standpoint.
Being able to get free tickets for a mere $10 donation is a great deal for individuals and families who might not otherwise have the funds to see a game (with prices continually rising across the landscape for most sporting events). Additionally, the product on the field should be not only good but competitive. This is arguably the most talented team Kelly has had in Westwood to date.
As Bolch breaks down thoroughly, everything fans need to know about procuring the tickets can be seen above via his tweets.
