UCLA Football: Laiatu Latu Posts Ridiculous Unofficial 40-Yard Dash
UCLA DL standout Laiatu Latu is currently showcasing his skills at the NFL Combine in an attempt to raise his draft stock, which is already high. Latu is projected to go in the first round, but a strong Combine could send him into the top 10 picks.
The first day of the Combine features defensive linemen and linebackers, and Latu was finally featured in the second group. He rocketed off the line and posted an unofficial first attempt of 4.64 seconds on the 40-yard dash.
Latu is tied for second place with that time, and he will have one more attempt to secure his official time. At first, it appeared as if the young DL stumbled a bit in the beginning, but he finished strong.
We imagine that Latu could post an even faster time with his second attempt. His first attempt was already ridiculous considering he is a 259 lb DL.

Latu's second attempt was a .01 second slower than the first, making his unofficial time 4.65.
Latu will engage in the drills that will showcase his movement further, but his 40-yard dash should prove that he can move quickly. That is especially true for the 2023 season, which saw the DL post a 13-sack season.
We expect Latu to go in the top 20 picks, but there are some mock drafts that have him in the top 10. Both situations are very possible.
