UCLA Football News: Insider Believes Bruins In Trouble Coming Off Colorado's Bye Week

Big game coming.

Sitting at 5-2 with a big game this weekend, your UCLA Bruins look to record another win, this time against the very hyped 4-3 Colorado Buffaloes.

With a 4:30pm PST Saturday kickoff, it's important to look into what these teams are coming off of ahead of this matchup.

The Buffaloes, coming off of a bye, are now entering must-win territory if they want to stay in contention for a competitive bowl game. At 4-3, they've had some nice wins, but have also suffered embarrassing losses at the hands of Oregon and Stanford, as the former beat them by 36 and the latter came back from a 29-0 deficit.

Armed with likely first-round NFL draft picks Shedeur Sanders and Travis Hunter, Colorado has a strong top half of the roster, but struggle in the trenches and lack true game-breakers defensively. Outside of their talent, Stacey Blackwood of USA Today writes:

"Colorado players have had the spotlight on them ever since the season began, but it will likely be nice for the Buffs to hang loose and not have the eyes of the college football world upon them. Having time to get healthy and correct some issues should help the Buffs down the stretch."

Getting healthy is atop the Buffs' priorities list, as they missed two-way star Travis Hunter for a few weeks, and Savion Washington has battled lower-body injuries.

For your Bruins, quarterback Ethan Garbers looked terrific in the club’s 42-7 win against Stanford this past Saturday, and looks ready to propel UCLA into automatic-bowl game territory.
