The start of the college football season is upon us, Bruin fans. It will all start with Pac-12 media day this Friday, and three members of the team, including head coach Chip Kelly will make an appearance.

It's an exciting time of the season as all the speculation and predictions for each team start to get underway. Your Bruins will look for an even better campaign this season than last, and they should, as they've improved season by season under Kelly.

Last season, the Bruins went 6-3 in the Pac-12, and in their final season in the conference, insider David Woods predicts the same record for the Bruins, placing them at fifth overall.

5. UCLA (predicted record: 6-3)

Right now, I have UCLA losing on the road to Utah, USC, and Arizona (again). I'll reserve the right to adjust based on August camp, but as it stands, I think the Bruins have an easy path to six wins in conference, but with a couple of coinflips, and I've picked winning at Oregon State on one flip, and losing at Arizona on another.

Another 6-3 record would be nice, but unfortunately, it won't be enough to get themselves into the Pac-12 championship game. It won't be easy, but UCLA is poised to be among the conference's elite in their final season in the Pac-12.

The Bruins may need to dominate the weaker opponents and steal a few in games where they're considered underdogs. The team must mesh together quickly; although they are young and inexperienced, that will all fall on Kelly and the coaching staff.

We cannot wait to get the season underway for UCLA to silence the critics and 'over-achieve' to some.
