The Bruins have offered their first defensive recruit since hiring D'Anton Lynn as their next defensive coordinator.

Class of 2025 linebacker Weston Port earned an offer from UCLA football, he revealed Saturday on Twitter. Port visited the Bruins over the weekend, and the San Juan Hills (CA) product left Westwood as the third player in his class to officially join the staff's recruiting board.

Port also has offers from Arizona, Arizona State, BYU, Colorado, Colorado State, Florida State, Georgia, Liberty, Louisville, Miami (FL), Michigan, Oklahoma, Ole Miss, Oregon, Oregon State, Penn, Pittsburgh, San Diego State, SMU, Tennessee, Texas A&M, UNLV, Utah, Virginia Tech and Wisconsin.

The 6-foot-2, 220-pound Port has been reeling in offers since his freshman season, when he broke out with 91 tackles, 25.0 tackles for loss, 12.0 sacks and two pass breakups. As a sophomore, Port recorded 97 tackles, 23.0 tackles for loss, 6.5 sacks and three forced fumbles.

Port made MaxPreps' Freshman All-American First Team in 2021 and MaxPreps' Sophomore All-American Second Team in 2022. Port also earned an invite to the Under Armour Next Camp Series in Los Angeles on April 2.

247Sports and Rivals both have Port pegged as a four-star prospect, while ESPN and On3 do not have him rated yet. In the 247Sports Composite, Port is ranked as the No. 8 linebacker in the country, the No. 10 player in California and the No. 62 overall recruit in his class.

Port is the No. 2 linebacker in California.

UCLA had previously offered two class of 2025 prospects – five-star Bonita (CA) linebacker Noah Mikhail and unrated Centennial (CA) quarterback Husan Longstreet.

Inside linebackers coach Ken Norton Jr. has recruited his position aggressively ever since joining the staff 12 months ago. Of the Bruins' 13 signees in 2023, four were primarily recruited by Norton.

Lynn is a former cornerback and was primarily a secondary coach across his nine seasons in the NFL. His role and personality as a recruiter may not be completely defined just yet, so it will be interesting to watch how the Bruins' recruit Port and others moving forward.
